| Obverse description | Central vignette shows a haloed bishop saint in full liturgical vestments — mitre, cope, and crosier — seated in benediction within a Gothic arched gateway flanked by two stone towers with red-tiled conical roofs. The lower left bears a partial shield with the red wheel of Mainz, and the lower right displays the blue-and-white lozenge arms of Bavaria. A red-and-white chequered floor recedes toward the centre, with the serial number printed in black below. The denomination "25 Pf." appears in bold red at upper left and upper right, with the issuing authority legend in Gothic blackletter script across the top. |
