| Obverse description | The obverse carries a decorative Gothic letterpress header reading 'Stadt Neuss' within an ornate foliate frame, flanked by the denomination '25' in each upper corner. A central woodcut-style vignette presents a riverside view of Neuss with the distinctive round tower and church spires of the Quirinus Münster against a riparian landscape. Bilingual text panels to either side of the vignette state the note's validity conditions and the issuing authority, dated 'Neuss, den 1. Mai 1919', and bearing the facsimile signature of the Oberbürgermeister; a repeated 'STADT NEUSS' underprint covers the entire field. |
