| Beschrijving voorzijde | Printed in brown and orange on plain paper, the obverse carries a central vignette of interlaced decorative ribbon scrolls with the large numeral '25' superimposed at centre. A smaller vignette to the left depicts a rural landscape scene, while architectural elements appear to the right, all set within a hatched rectangular border. Below the scrollwork, a three-line text block gives the validity and redemption clause, dated Goslar, December 1918, and signed by the Magistrat. |

Goslar's 1918 Notgeld issue belongs to the first serious wave of municipal emergency money prompted by wartime coin hoarding — by mid-1918, small denomination coins had effectively vanished from everyday retail circulation across Germany, and towns were left to solve the problem themselves.
