Obverse description Printed in violet on white paper, the obverse is centred on the elaborately rendered coat of arms of Hildesheim, surrounded by baroque acanthus scrollwork with a female figure atop the cartouche. Denomination panels reading '25 Pfennig' appear in guilloche-bordered frames at left and right. Below, the issuing text, place, date of 18 October 1918, serial number in red, and a manuscript signature for Der Magistrat are arranged across the lower portion of the note.

Reverse description The reverse, also in violet, carries a central vignette of the Hildesheim city panorama showing the gothic spires and rooftops of the medieval skyline, framed beneath an Art Nouveau arch from which a winged cherub figure reclines, with the year '1918' integrated into the decorative band. Flanking ornamental panels with sword and column motifs border the scene at left and right, while the lower portion bears the inscription identifying this as Kriegs-Notgeld of the City of Hildesheim.
Reverse lettering Da Pacem Domine In Diebus Nostris
