Reverse description The reverse centres on a stylised globe depicted with longitudinal and latitudinal grid lines, conveying an image of the world as seen from a slight angle. Superimposed across the centre of the globe is a rectangular cartouche bearing the bold legend BANCO MUNDIAL in large raised letters. The full institutional name BANCO INTERNACIONAL DE RECONSTRUCCION Y FOMENTO curves around the upper and lower periphery of the coin, flanking the globe design on all sides. The overall composition is clean and graphic, with a mirror-like proof field enhancing the contrast between design elements.

Additional information

Equatorial Guinea gained independence from Spain in October 1968, and within two years the new government contracted the Banco Exterior de España to produce this silver issue — part of a broader proof set intended primarily for the international collector market rather than domestic circulation. The country had virtually no minting infrastructure of its own.

The "World Bank" designation in the series title refers to the issuing authority arrangement, not World Bank Group involvement.
