正面描述	Printed in black and grey, the obverse centres on a right-facing portrait vignette of the Spanish poet Manuel José Quintana y Lorenzo, identified by inscription with his birth and death years (1772–1857). To the right, a decorative allegorical group incorporates palm branches, a musical instrument, a sword, a theatrical mask, and an oil lamp. Period letterpress legends along the upper and lower margins name the issuing authority and denomination, with the customary signature titles for the Governor, Comptroller, and Cashier arranged at the foot.
