Obverse description The Finnish State coat of arms occupies the central field, depicting a crowned rampant lion passant to the left, its right foreleg replaced by an armoured hand brandishing a straight sword aloft, while its hindpaws trample a curved sabre. The design is rendered in high relief against a plain field. The date is divided to either side of the shield at the lower portion of the field, with the mint mark appearing alongside when applicable.

Reverse description The large numeral '25' dominates the central field in bold relief, flanked symmetrically on either side by upward-curving grain sprigs with elongated leaves, their tips reaching toward the upper rim. The inscription 'PENNIÄ' is positioned in the lower portion of the field in evenly spaced capital letters. The entire design is enclosed within a fine inner border of beading that follows the coin's circumference.
