Obverse description Right-facing effigy of Queen Elizabeth II wearing the Diamond Diadem, with earring and necklace visible, rendered in high relief after the portrait by Joel Iskowitz. The truncation of the bust is lightly draped. The circular legend surrounds the effigy, with the date 2018 appearing in the lower field beneath the portrait. A fine beaded border frames the entire design.

Reverse description A graceful branch bearing multiple poppy blooms and buds in various stages of opening occupies the left and lower portion of the field, rendered in delicate relief. The denomination 25p appears in the centre of the design. To the right and spiralling inward toward the centre, the opening stanza of Lieutenant Colonel John McCrae's 1915 poem 'In Flanders Fields' is inscribed in diminishing curved lines of text, evoking the image of rows of graves. The composition is framed by a plain raised rim.
