Additional information

Saint Helena issued this piece to mark the bicentennial window around Napoleon's death on the island in 1821 — he died there in exile after the British government refused repeated requests to improve his living conditions at Longwood House, where damp and rats were persistent complaints. The island remains the only territory with a direct custodial claim to his place of death.
