| Obverse description | The Norwegian royal coat of arms occupies the central field, depicting a crowned lion rampant facing left and bearing a battle axe, set upon a shield with a vertically lined background. A large royal crown surmounts the shield. To each side of the shield, the royal cypher comprising the monogram 'O II' appears beneath a smaller crown, flanked by wreath branches. The legend 'BRODERFOLKENES VEL' arcs along the upper field, and a beaded border encircles the design along the rim. |
