| 表面の説明 | Central field features the elaborately engraved royal cypher of Oscar II — the interlaced initials 'O II' in ornate script — surmounted by a large royal crown with arched bands and jewelled rim. The monogram rests on a decorative foliate base with scrollwork flourishes. A beaded inner border frames the design, and the legend BRODERFOLKENES VEL curves around the upper and right periphery in Roman capitals. |

Oscar II acceded to the Norwegian throne in 1872 following the death of his brother Karl XV, and the coinage reforms of the mid-1870s coincided almost exactly with Norway's entry into the Scandinavian Monetary Union in 1875. That agreement — between Norway, Sweden, and Denmark — pegged their respective currencies to a shared gold standard and forced a wholesale redesign of circulating silver, explaining why so many Norwegian types appear or are substantially revised in 1876.
KM#354 was struck at Kongsberg, the only mint Norway operated throughout the nineteenth century.
