正面描述 The obverse features the interlaced royal cypher of King Frederik IX — a stylized 'R' surmounted by the numeral 'IX' — positioned to the left of the central hole, and topped by a royal crown in high relief. A naturalistic beech branch bearing multiple leaves sweeps elegantly along the right side of the field. The date of issue appears in the lower field, flanked by the mint master's initials 'C' and 'S' with a heart-shaped mint mark between them, all engraved by H. Salomon.

附加信息

Denmark's switch from the older silver-content øre coins to copper-nickel for this denomination was driven by the sustained rise in silver prices through the late 1950s and early 1960s, which made the previous alloy economically untenable to strike. The 25 øre in this composition first appeared in 1966 and ran until Frederik IX's death in January 1972, when Margrethe II's accession ended the series.

Circulation was heavy throughout this period — the 25 øre remained a genuinely functional denomination in everyday Danish commerce before inflation steadily eroded its purchasing utility.
