Aanvullende informatie

Greenland's coinage was administered not by the Danish state directly but by Grønlands Styrelse, the colonial management body that controlled trade, labor, and virtually all commerce on the island under a strict monopoly system. These coins were effectively company scrip with royal authority — designed to circulate within a closed economy where Greenlanders traded almost exclusively through KGH, the Royal Greenland Trade Department. They had little utility outside the island.

The 1926 issue is the first year of this denomination in copper-nickel, replacing an earlier aluminum series. Mintage was modest, reflecting the small and deliberately controlled population of Greenland's west coast trading settlements at the time.
