附加信息	The Jaina figurines that inspired this series were produced by Maya artisans on the island of Jaina, off the Campeche coast, primarily between 600 and 900 AD. The island functioned largely as a necropolis, and the ceramic figures were interred with the dead rather than displayed in life — making them funerary objects first, art objects only in retrospect. Mexico's 1992–1993 monetary reform, which redenominated the peso at 1,000-to-1 and introduced the "Nuevo Peso," gave this issue its short-lived designation. By 1996 the "Nuevo" was quietly dropped from official usage.
