| 表面の説明 | Printed on woven linen fabric in red, blue, and black, this notgeld note carries a densely composed design commemorating the 700th anniversary of Bielefeld. The central vignette presents a classical allegorical female figure flanked by two red triangular fields, each bearing the denomination '25 Mark,' with French and German flags, armoured figures, and patriotic inscriptions arranged symmetrically around them. A central arch inscribed '1814 — VON PARIS NACH BERLIN' anchors the lower composition, with the Bielefeld city coat of arms below and the issuing authority and date 'AM 15. JULI 1921' integrated into the surrounding text border. |

Bielefeld's municipal savings bank issued this note during the early Weimar inflation period, when the Reich's currency supply could not keep pace with transactional demand and hundreds of German municipalities turned to Notgeld to fill the gap. The Stadtsparkasse series is among the better-documented examples of linen-composition emergency currency — the choice of fabric rather than paper was partly practical, partly a signal of durability intended to maintain public confidence in local scrip.
E. Gundlach A.G. was a Bielefeld printer with direct experience producing textile-based Notgeld, which made local sourcing logical rather than incidental. The linen substrate is prone to fraying along cut edges on heavily handled examples.
