附加信息	Struck to commemorate Ferdinand I's coronation at Alba Iulia on October 15, 1922 — a ceremony of considerable political weight, being the first coronation held on Transylvanian soil and deliberately staged to assert Romania's postwar territorial gains under the Treaty of Trianon. The choice of Alba Iulia was calculated: the city had been the seat of Michael the Brave, the 16th-century prince who briefly unified the Romanian principalities, and the symbolism was not lost on contemporaries. Medallic issues of this type saw limited official distribution, most going directly to dignitaries and foreign heads of state attending the coronation.
