Additional information

Issued to mark the 25th anniversary of Czechoslovakia's liberation at the end of World War II, this coin appeared at a politically charged moment: just two years after Warsaw Pact forces crushed the Prague Spring reforms, the Husák government was using commemorative programs to reassert ideological orthodoxy. KM#69 was struck at the Kremnica Mint, which had produced Czechoslovak coinage continuously since 1335.
