| 背面描述 | A detailed frontal view of the Neo-Renaissance facade of the National Museum building in Prague dominates the centre of the field, rendered with fine architectural detail including its prominent central dome, flanking cupolas, colonnaded wings, and a decorative fountain in the foreground. The engraver's signature M.KNOBLOCH appears incuse in the lower central field beneath the building. The circular legend NARODNI MUZEUM V PRAZE curves along the left and upper periphery, flanked by the founding and commemorative years 1818 and 1968 separated by dot stops at the upper rim. The denomination KCS 25 is inscribed in the lower field. |

The National Museum on Wenceslas Square opened in 1891, but the institution itself dates to 1818 — founded under František Josef hrabě Šternberk-Manderscheid as part of the Czech national revival movement, when cultural institutions served as a primary vehicle for asserting Czech identity within the Habsburg empire. The 150th anniversary fell squarely in 1968, a year the Czechoslovak government had other concerns: the coin was issued just months before Warsaw Pact tanks entered Prague in August.
