Beschrijving voorzijde Typeset Notgeld voucher printed in teal-blue ink on plain cream paper, with the large bold heading GUTSCHEIN at top centre followed by the denomination numeral 25 flanked by the word Heller on either side. Vertical ornamental borders composed of alternating scalloped medallion chains and ruled line panels frame both lateral edges of the note. The issuing authority, Ortsgemeinde Schwödiau, the redemption deadline of 31 December 1920, and the anti-counterfeiting warning are set in progressively smaller typefaces below the denomination, with the village headman's name, Josef Schilhuber, printed in bold at the foot.

Opmerkingen

Schwödiau — known today as Svidinov, a village in what is now the Czech Republic — issued this Heller notgeld as part of the broader Austrian municipal emergency currency wave that followed the acute coin shortage of 1916–1918. Small-denomination metal coins effectively vanished from circulation as the war consumed copper and nickel, forcing thousands of parishes, market towns, and rural communes to print their own fractional paper. Schwödiau was among the smallest and most obscure of these issuers.

Josef Schilhuber's signature as issuing authority is the only firm anchor this note has to a specific local official — the commune itself left almost no paper trail in numismatic literature.
