The Bank van de Nederlandse Antillen replaced its predecessor, the Bank Nederlandse Antillen, in 1962, but continued issuing notes on existing designs for several years rather than commissioning entirely new series — this note belongs to that transitional window. Enschedé, the Haarlem printer, had a long-established relationship with Dutch colonial and overseas territories, and the security work on this series reflects their characteristic intaglio precision.
The 1967–1972 date span covers a politically restless period in the Antilles, when autonomy questions were sharpening across the island group. Pick 10 is not common in the higher grades.
