Obverse description Green intaglio on multicolor guilloche underprint. At right, a finely engraved vignette of a native Surinamese woman in three-quarter portrait, a flaming torch rising above her head and a cornucopia of tropical fruit beside her. The denomination "VIJF EN TWINTIG GULDEN" is printed in large letters at centre, flanked by numeral "25" at lower left and right, with an elaborate radiating guilloche rosette in red and green at the lower centre. The watermark window is positioned at left, with the date "1 SEPTEMBER 1963" and a signature above "PRESIDENT" along the lower margin.

Reverse description Green on multicolor underprint. The Surinamese Coat of Arms is centrally placed, differing from the arms used on the 1957 issue. A two-letter and six-digit order number appears on the note, and a text block at the bottom centre cites Article 260 of the Surinamese Criminal Code concerning the forgery and misuse of banknotes.
