De Curaçaosche Bank was the sole note-issuing authority for the Netherlands Antilles throughout the war years, and 1943 was a period of acute logistical strain — the Netherlands itself was under German occupation, yet Enschedé in Haarlem somehow continued supplying currency to the Caribbean territories. How printed sheets reached Curaçao during active Atlantic submarine warfare remains a practical question the literature rarely addresses directly.
Pick 27 is not a common note. The 25 Gulden denomination saw limited demand relative to lower values, and wartime hoarding reduced surviving circulated examples considerably.
