Obverse description Brown intaglio print on cream paper. The centre carries the bold letterpress inscription DE JAVASCHE BANK / BETAALT AAN TOONDER / VIJF EN TWINTIG GULDEN, with place and date of issue (BATAVIA, 14 JANUARI 1930) below. A vignette portrait of a bearded Dutch colonial-era dignitary in a ruff collar is set within a circular guilloche frame at the right, while the denomination numeral 25 appears in the upper left and lower right corners within ornamental panels. Two handwritten signatures appear in the lower portion, one for De Secretaris and one for De President.
