25 Francs Kolen (coal voucher) - Vooruit (blue-grey)

Vooruit — the Ghent-based socialist cooperative — issued coal vouchers like this one as part of its internal scrip economy, allowing members to purchase fuel through the cooperative's own distribution network rather than through commercial merchants. The system was a deliberate political act as much as a practical one, cutting out the private trader entirely and cycling value back through the cooperative's accounts.

The blue-grey color distinguished the 25-franc coal denomination from other Vooruit scrip in circulation at the same time. Printed in-house in Ghent, these vouchers were redeemable only within the cooperative's own coal depot.
