Burundi has no meaningful numismatic tradition tied to aviation or ballooning — this is a frankly commercial issue produced for the international collector market, a practice the Bank of the Republic of Burundi has leaned into heavily since the 2010s. The country itself imports nearly all its coinage and outsources production to private mints in Europe.
