Obverse description Central device consists of a large, ornate eight-pointed geometric star formed by two interlocking squares rendered in bold relief, with a smaller concentric eight-pointed star at its centre, each point decorated with a raised ovoid pellet. The design reflects traditional Islamic geometric art. The Arabic legend الجنوب العربي curves along the upper periphery, while the Latin legend SOUTH ARABIA follows the lower periphery, both separated from the central device by small circular stops in the field.
