Beschrijving voorzijde The obverse presents a laureate female figure in the tradition of the French Semeuse (Sower), rendered in high relief with exceptional sculptural depth. She stands facing left in flowing classical drapery, scattering seeds from a shallow bowl held at her waist with her extended right hand, while her left hand grasps a tall staff from which a billowing banner unfurls behind her. Flanking her on either side are stylized wheat sheaves or plant fronds, symbolizing agricultural abundance and the French Republican ideal of prosperity. The monogram 'RF' (République Française) appears prominently in the upper right field, with the date '2024' inscribed below the central figure and the denomination '25 €' displayed in large characters along the lower exergual band. The engraver's initials 'JM' are visible in the lower right field.

Aanvullende informatie

The Semeuse — the sowing figure designed by Louis Oscar Roty in 1897 — became one of the most enduring images in French coinage, appearing on the franc centimes series for over a century before decimal transition. Monnaie de Paris has periodically revived the motif in premium issues, pairing it here with Augustin Dupré's Libertas Americana-derived figure, whose origins trace to a medal commissioned by Benjamin Franklin in 1782 to mark French support during the American Revolution.

The 62-gram format places this squarely in the 2 oz silver bullion-adjacent category Monnaie de Paris has favored for collector issues since the mid-2010s.
