Aanvullende informatie

Austria's niobium commemorative series, launched in 2003, was among the first programs anywhere to use niobium as a primary coinage metal — chosen specifically because its oxide layer can be anodized to produce vivid colors without dyes or coatings. The 2005 issue marks the fiftieth anniversary of Austrian television broadcasting, which began on August 1, 1955, just months after the State Treaty restored Austrian sovereignty following a decade of Allied occupation.

Mintage was capped at 65,000 pieces, consistent with the series, and the niobium centre was anodized blue for this issue.
