Obverse description The iridescent niobium centre depicts the cratered far side of the Moon in high relief, its textured surface rendered with striking naturalism. To the left in the silver ring, a radio telescope dish is engraved in fine detail, while to the right a stylised solar corona or planetary body appears near the rim. The legend REPUBLIK ÖSTERREICH curves along the upper portion of the silver ring, with the denomination 25 EURO at the lower portion. The engraver's signature H. WÄHNER appears within the niobium field, and the inscription RÜCKSEITE DES MONDES (Far Side of the Moon) curves across the niobium centre.
