Reverse description The reverse features a stylized, two-zone composition divided vertically by a polished mirror-finish panel. The right-hand mirror field depicts a square voting ballot box bearing a circular arrangement of twelve five-pointed stars, symbolising the European Union, with the legend PARLEMENT EUROPÉEN inscribed vertically along the right border. The left matte field presents an abstract architectural or geometric design rendered in fine incuse lines, evoking the interior of a parliamentary chamber. The denomination 25 EURO is inscribed in a rectangular exergual panel along the lower portion of the coin.

Additional information

Issued to mark the sixth direct elections to the European Parliament in June 2004, the first held with 25 member states following the EU's largest single enlargement — ten new members joined on 1 May of that year. Luxembourg, as one of the original six founding members of what became the EU, has consistently issued commemorative coinage tied to European institutional milestones.

KM#86 is a relatively low-mintage issue with limited secondary market depth.
