| Obverse description | Stylized depiction of the Luxembourg city fortifications occupies the upper and central fields, with a church spire rising prominently above the battlemented wall. A ring of twelve six-pointed stars surrounds the upper portion of the design in reference to the European Community. The country name LËTZEBUERG is inscribed in bold relief across a horizontal band through the center of the fortification motif. The Luxembourg coat of arms, quarterly with lions passant, is displayed centrally below the gateway arch, flanked by the denomination 25 to the left and ECU to the right, with the date 1994 split across two lines to the lower right of the shield. |
