| Obverse description | The full Jamaican coat of arms occupies the central field, featuring a quartered shield charged with five golden pineapples and a cross, supported on the dexter side by a female Taíno figure holding a basket of fruit and on the sinister side by a male Taíno figure bearing a spear, both in traditional attire. A crocodile couchant surmounts the helm above the shield, with a mantling of elaborate strapwork. A scroll at the base of the arms bears the national motto in the legend. The country name JAMAICA arcs along the upper periphery, with the denomination TWENTY FIVE DOLLARS and the date 1998 inscribed along the lower left and right fields respectively. |
