Additional information

This tiny gold piece belongs to a wave of commemorative issues Liberia produced in the early 2000s — a period when the country was emerging from the First Liberian Civil War and the central bank was aggressively licensing foreign-designed collector series to generate hard currency revenue. The coins were not intended for domestic circulation and were largely sold through overseas distributors to thematic collectors.

At 0.73 g, the gold content is negligible by bullion standards — the numismatic premium is the entire value proposition.
