Beschrijving keerzijde A full-colour reproduction of Francisco Goya's celebrated oil painting 'La Maja Desnuda' (The Naked Maja, c. 1797–1800) occupies the entirety of the rectangular reverse field. The composition faithfully renders the reclining female nude figure lying on a green velvet daybed, her arms raised behind her head and her gaze directed directly at the viewer, set against a warm ochre background with white silk cushions and drapery. The colour application employs fine polychrome printing to capture the subtle flesh tones, textile textures, and tonal depth of Goya's original Romantic-era masterpiece, currently held in the Museo del Prado, Madrid. A decorative gilt scrollwork border frames the colourised central scene on all four sides.

Aanvullende informatie

Liberia has issued gold coins under its name since the 1960s, virtually none of which circulate or bear meaningful connection to the Liberian economy — they exist as licensed collectibles struck for the international numismatic market, typically by European mints operating under contract. This piece, at 0.15 g, contains less gold than a standard electrical contact.
