| 背面描述 | Left-facing portrait of Prince Roy of Sealand, rendered from an official photographic reference taken on the occasion of the 35th anniversary of the principality's independence. The effigy is realistically engraved in a contemporary style. A circular legend surrounds the portrait bearing the prince's title and the regnal dates 1967–2012, marking the years of his co-rulership. The engraver's initials 'M AA' and the motto 'E MARE LIBERTAS' appear within the legend. |

Sealand — the former Royal Navy anti-aircraft platform HM Fort Roughs, seized by Paddy Roy Bates in 1967 — has no recognized monetary system, no circulating coinage, and no economic relationship with any state. These silver pieces are produced under license by private minting operations and sold directly to collectors, functioning as novelty bullion with a commemorative pretext rather than anything approaching issued currency. Roy Bates died in October 2012 after years of declining health, having spent decades defending his claim against both the British government and a 1978 coup attempt backed by German and Dutch businessmen.
