| Obverse description | Central field features the coat of arms of Liberia, depicting a sailing ship approaching shore beneath a radiant sun, with a dove in flight, a palm tree, and a plough upon a shield supported by decorative scrollwork. The date '2004' is divided across the lower field on either side of the shield. The outer legend 'REPUBLIC OF LIBERIA' arcs along the upper rim, while a secondary scroll legend 'THE LOVE OF LIBERTY BROUGHT US HERE' is inscribed across the shield, and 'REPUBLIC OF LIBERIA' appears again on a ribbon at the base. The design is struck in proof-like quality with fine milled border. |
