Niue has operated a licensed coinage program since the 1990s, issuing legal tender coins under agreements with Disney, among other IP holders. This piece belongs to a series capitalizing on the 80th anniversary of Disney's Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs — the 1937 film that was the first feature-length cel-animated production in cinema history and the financial gamble that nearly bankrupted the Disney studio before it became its salvation.
Struck to .9999 fineness at the Perth Mint, which handles the majority of Niue's gold program.
