| Obverse description | The obverse of this rectangular gold piece features the fourth definitive effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, designed by Ian Rank-Broadley, depicted in right-facing profile with a diadem and draped bust. The legend 'ELIZABETH II' arcs along the upper left border and 'COOK ISLANDS' along the upper right, both following the circular field surrounding the portrait. The denomination '25 DOLLARS' is inscribed below the effigy in the lower portion of the circular surround. Beneath the portrait circle, the fineness and weight specifications '4.0 g .9999 FINEST GOLD' are struck in the lower field of the rectangular planchet. |

| Reverse description | The reverse presents a finely engraved depiction of the Shroud of Turin (Sindone di Torino), rendered as a ghostly full-length image of a shrouded figure occupying the central field of the rectangular planchet, replicating the iconic negative image associated with the holy relic. The upper corners and lower center of the reverse are each set with a deep red Swarovski crystal, three in total, embedded flush within circular recesses. The Italian inscription 'SINDONE DI TORINO' appears in the upper field to the right of the top-left crystal, with the date '2010' on the second line, commemorating the public exposition of the Shroud held that year. |
