| Reverse description | The reverse of this oval gold piece features a detailed relief depiction of the twin-towered Frauenkirche (Cathedral of Our Dear Lady) of Munich occupying the right portion of the field, with the characteristic onion-domed towers rendered in fine detail. To the left, five Swarovski crystals — alternating sapphire blue and clear — are set vertically alongside the names of the five Bavarian cities visited by Pope Benedict XVI: MÜNCHEN, ALTÖTTING, REGENSBURG, MARKTL, and FREISING. The papal coat of arms of Benedict XVI is engraved centrally between the crystal column and the architectural motif.
