| Reverse description | The reverse presents a highly detailed, polychrome colored effigy of Queen Nefertiti modeled after the celebrated ancient Egyptian bust dating to circa 1345 BC, attributed to the sculptor Thutmose and held in the Neues Museum, Berlin. The queen is depicted facing forward in three-quarter bust form, wearing her distinctive flat-topped blue cylindrical crown (khepresh) adorned with a golden diadem band and a central uraeus ornament. Her face is rendered with fine sculptural precision, featuring stylized kohl-lined eyes, high cheekbones, and composed lips, while an elaborate polychrome broad collar necklace of gold, faience, and gemstone hues adorns her shoulders and chest. The entire reverse surface follows the shaped outline of the Nefertiti bust, and the vibrant coloring is applied to faithfully replicate the pigmentation of the original ancient artifact. |
