| Beschrijving voorzijde | Central inset medallion bearing the fourth-generation effigy of Queen Elizabeth II by Ian Rank-Broadley, facing right, with the legend ELIZABETH II to the left and SOLOMON ISLANDS 25 DOLLARS to the right, and the date 2022 below. The surrounding field features a radiating sunburst pattern of fine engine-turned lines, overlaid with a stylized ascending graph in the lower half depicting the progressive refinement of Aupurium gold purity milestones. The purity levels 999, 9999, 99999, 999991, and 999991+ are inscribed along the vertical axis, with the corresponding years 1979, 1982, 1998, 2018, and 2022 marked along the horizontal axis, each milestone denoted by a star symbol. The designer's initials IRB appear on the obverse portrait truncation. |

Aupurium is a proprietary gold alloy designation used by coin producer B.H. Mayer's Kunstprägeanstalt of Munich, referring to what is effectively .9999 fine gold processed to their internal purity standard. The Solomon Islands has long served as a licensing issuer for European commemorative producers, providing legal tender status to coins with no plausible connection to the issuing nation — the Matterhorn and the Glacier Express railway are entirely Swiss subjects.
The Glacier Express route between Zermatt and St. Moritz opened in 1930 and crosses 291 bridges.
