| 背面描述 | Central design features an ornate lock plate depicted with detailed scale-like decorative engraving, incorporating a prominent keyhole at its centre and flanked by two stylised fish or sea-creature heads at the lower portion, their bodies forming the body of the lock plate. A scallop shell motif appears at the top of the composition, and decorative scrollwork borders frame the design on either side. A small winged motif is present at the base. The denomination legend TWENTY-FIVE DOLLARS is inscribed in two lines within the design field, arcing around the central motif. |

Part of the British Virgin Islands' prolific commemorative program of the 1980s, this issue belongs to a series depicting artifacts recovered from shipwrecks in BVI waters — specifically hardware associated with the era of Caribbean sail. Lock plates of this type were standard iron fittings on chests and strongboxes carried aboard merchant and privateer vessels, making them among the more archaeologically common finds in shallow-water wreck surveys throughout the archipelago.
