The Kings of England series from the Cayman Islands ran through the late 1970s and into 1980, targeting the collector market at a moment when silver commemoratives from British overseas territories were being produced in enormous volume. The House of Lancaster entry covers Henry IV, V, and VI — the dynasty that came to power through usurpation in 1399 and ended, effectively, at Bosworth in 1485.
.500 fineness was a deliberate cost reduction against the .925 pieces produced by competing mints at the time.
