Obverse description Proof finish obverse featuring the right-facing draped bust effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, wearing the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland tiara, as modelled by Arnold Machin. The legend CAYMAN ISLANDS arcs along the upper left periphery and ELIZABETH II along the upper right, with the date 1980 centred at the base flanked by two raised dots. The CHI mint mark appears in small lettering in the lower left field, near the truncation. The deeply mirrored field contrasts sharply with the finely detailed frosted portrait.

Reverse description Proof finish reverse displaying five portrait busts of the Hanoverian monarchs of England arranged in a circular composition within the field: George II at the top centre, George I at the middle left, George III at the middle right, George IV at the lower left, and William IV at the lower right, each rendered in fine relief with period-appropriate dress and wigs. The denomination 25 DOLLARS appears in the centre of the field. The peripheral legend, separated by small arrow ornaments, reads GEORGE·I·1714-1727, GEORGE·II·1727-1760, GEORGE·III·1760-1820, GEORGE·IV·1820-1830, and WILLIAM·IV·1830-1837, encircling the design. The deeply mirrored field provides strong contrast to the frosted portrait reliefs, characteristic of proof coinage.
