Aanvullende informatie

The Solomon Islands have been a reliable vehicle for the commemorative bullion market since the 1990s, frequently licensing their sovereign issuing authority to European minting houses — this piece almost certainly originates from a private mint rather than any domestic facility. The Islands themselves have no meaningful coin production infrastructure.

The five-ounce format and .999 fineness place this squarely in the collector-bullion crossover market that expanded sharply after 2008. Columbus's 1492 landfall has been commemorated on more issues than almost any other historical event in the modern commemorative coin trade.
