| Aanvullende informatie |
The 1986 Commonwealth Games were held in Edinburgh — the first time Scotland hosted — and were overshadowed by a widespread boycott organized in protest of the British government's refusal to impose sanctions on apartheid South Africa. Thirty-two nations withdrew, leaving the Games significantly diminished. Barbados was among the countries that did not boycott, and this issue was struck in that charged atmosphere.
KM#44a is the silver proof variant of a base-metal circulation issue, a pairing common to Caribbean commemorative programs of the period.
