Aanvullende informatie

This piece commemorates the quincentennial of Columbus's 1492 voyage, part of a wave of Caribbean commemorative programs timed to the 1992 anniversary. Jamaica's participation carried particular historical irony — Columbus landed on the island in 1494, claimed it for the Spanish crown, and the indigenous Taíno population was effectively extinct within decades of contact. The Bank of Jamaica issued several denominations in this series, with the silver strikes intended primarily for the collector market rather than circulation.

Schön 110 confirms the type; KM#150 cross-references cleanly without recorded die varieties of note.
