Issued in 2025 as part of the Royal Canadian Mint's ongoing commemorative program under Charles III, this piece reflects the first years of a reign still establishing its own iconographic vocabulary for Canadian coinage. The "Calling of an Engineer" ceremony it marks is a distinctly Canadian tradition — the Iron Ring ritual, formalized in 1925 by Rudyard Kipling, in which graduating engineers receive a ring worn on the working hand as a reminder of professional obligation.
