Reverse description The reverse, designed by Pandora Young, commemorates the centenary of the Engineering Institute of Canada with a richly detailed allegorical composition celebrating the engineering profession. Prominent in the design are a welding torch emitting a spark, a robotic arm, a drafting hand with pencil and protractor, a microchip with circuit traces, mechanical gears, a laboratory test tube, and a structural chemical formula rendered in the lower field. The word CANADA dominates the central field in large bold lettering, with the centennial dates 1925-2025 inscribed immediately below. The engraver's initials PY appear in the lower left field.
