Additional information

Cook Islands has become one of the more prolific issuers of legal-tender novelty bullion in the Pacific region, licensing its monetary authority for collector pieces that have no meaningful circulation function. This particular issue commemorates the Eiffel Tower, which was built as a temporary structure for the 1889 Exposition Universelle and was nearly demolished in 1909 — saved primarily because its iron lattice proved useful as a radio transmission tower.

At 155.5 g, this is a five-troy-ounce format piece, a weight class that has dominated the themed silver collector market since roughly 2015.
